What Psychedelic is Right for You: Understanding the Various Psychedelics through their Biological Mechanisms of Action

Not every psychedelic exerts the same physical and mental characteristics, and it is important to understand which ones have certain drawbacks and different durations of action depending on their intended use. In fact, psychedelics are defined by their mechanism of action as activating a specific serotonin receptor in the brain, the 5-HT2A receptor, but almost all psychedelics exert activities at other receptors too, which leads to their incredible versatility for a whole host of medical indications. Rather this is a circle of active listening and sharing. A person has the opportunity to vocalize what they may have experienced and how the altered states of consciousness impacted them.
Integrating an experience is about making new choices in this reality and how to go about doing so in a productive way. A unique aspect of the workshop is a person’s questions or concerns are often answered by listening to what others have to say. Because the experience fades rapidly, integration as part of the journey helps a person keep in place the lessons learned.
